About Me

Hello there! My name is Melanie Waldman and I am 27 years old. I attended Rutgers University- New Brunswick and graduated in May 2013 with a double major in Theatre and Journalism/Media Studies. I am a Jersey Girl and was born and raised in a not-so small town outside of Atlantic City.

Just Keep Swimming

I’ve had the pleasure of working in Walt Disney World with the Disney College Program. I loved my time there.  However, it wasn’t very long after my move to Florida that my life began to take a drastic change.  I was working hard at Disney and playing & enjoying the parks equally as much. Basically, I wore myself  too thin, pretty quickly, and began to show symptoms of having chronic joint pain and exhaustion.  A few months later, I was diagnosed with having Lupus SLE.

Unfortunately, my program with Disney was ultimately cut short when I was hospitalized for having a blood clot in the artery of my right wrist, which was cutting off the circulation to my hand.  I later suffered from an extremely rare reaction to heparin, known as a H.I.T. (heparin induced thrombocytopenia). A few days later, my right forearm, just below the elbow was amputated, as a result of my reaction.

Fast forward to five years later and here I am now– certified as yoga teacher (RYT 200 hour), professional actor, small-time producer of short films, and creator of my Youtube channel under my same name, whereswaldman.

In my free time also really enjoy going to the beach, reading a good book, and traveling, as well.

I also have synesthesia, but.. well that’s a whole different story… =)

Hi Melanie, Ramona Howze here. I haven’t seen you since high school. I worked with your mom in the courthouse. I have always considered her a good friend. I know your dad as well. I am so happy he made Judge. He deserves it. Now about you young lady. I am so glad to see your spirits high. I would expect nothing less. You will do well with your blog. My daughter Dana is a blogger and she graduated from Rutgers as well. I will continue to read your blog and I promise to write. You keep up your spirits. I love the title.
